PRESS RELEASE
Feel This (EM002FT)
Produced by: Erin McCallum
Erin McCallum's 2nd release FEEL THIS, with its mix of various Blues stylings, remains within the musical territory staked out with her first offering 5 A.M. BLUES.  McCallum uses the platform of the 11 selections - all written and arranged by the artist from thought to finish - to cover a range of topics; and not all of them the usual Blues variety.
With her strong vocals front and centre, Trevor MacKenzie's first-rate guitars serving as the soloing focal point, and Ron Lombard (bass) and Joe Pace (drums) holding down the bottom end, McCallum leads the band through various musical excursions.

Suggested Air Play Selections:
1. Track One - 2 Steps Forward

A fun loving, rollicking dance workout featuring some fine piano fills courtesy of Gregg Dechert.

2.  Track Three - Feel This

The title track is one of two on the recording paying homage to the power of song.  The 12 bar piece features an a capella vocal intro, an extended guitar solo, and a fine vocal/guitar trade-off riding the tune out.

3.  Track Eight - Justified

Showing some rock sensibilities, "Justified" marks a departure from the rest of the disc.  Here McCallum uncorks a tough yet yearning vocal that matches the street wise lyrics she tosses off.
SONG SELECTIONS
1.  2 Steps Forward - a fun loving, rollicking dance workout featuring some fine piano fills courtesy of Gregg Dechert.

2.  Here I Am - a guitar driven number that rides Trevor MacKenzie's muscular leads as the singer relates to the story of being truly in her element only when on stage.

3.  Feel This - The title track is one of two on the recording paying homage to the power of song.  With no overdubs, the 12 bar piece features an a capella vocal intro, an extended guitar solo, and a fine vocal/guitar trade -off riding the tune out.

4.  It's Not Your Business - an understated shuffle with some effective dynamics on a push back response of "it's not your business...".

5.  Cant Go Wrong - a swinging number extolling the virtues of a song helping one rise above the daily grind.  The song offers a change in texture with a short harp interlude by McCallum that segues into a full blown guitar solo.

6.  Through My Soul - a stark guitar figure from MacKenzie kicks off an introspective piece; an "alone in a crowded room" condition that prompts the singer to "drift off and sift on through my soul".

7.  Take Me Slow - with Gregg Dechert helping out once again on this slinky number - this time on the Hammond B3 - the singer conveys what she has in mind in no uncertain terms with pleas of "touch me...hold me...tell me..."

8. Justified - showing some rock sensibilities, "Justified" marks a departure from the rest of the disc.  Here McCallum uncorks a tough yet yearning vocal that matches the street wise lyrics she tosses off.

9.  Rise Up - a shuffle with commentary of facing up to every new day despite people and thier actions not living up to personal expectations.

10.  a fitting closer.  There's an underlying country feel on this ballad recounting finding that one true love - "I'm home...and you feel it too".
